Levi was usually indifferent to tears. It was always other people crying due to an emotionally attachment he couldn't allow himself to get involved with, or someone so incredibly mad that their words didn't make sense. Ocassionally one would cry because of Pebble's state, though it wasn't in public so Levi usually couldnt be bothered. Usually. This was his girlfriend, if she was crying, he was going to be concerned. The one person he let himself grow close to in a while, the one person he allowed to grow close to him. Of course he was going to care! The thing was, he wasn't exactly what you would call an expert in comforting people. Normally he'd be in the house, probably cleaning a couple things before bed, but since pebble wasnt home the ex-captain had went out to search for her. A part of him deep inside nagged a thing him, asking what if she got attacked by Titans, what if Titans attacked while he was out, and when paranoia got the best of him he put on his gear, and had his gloves underneath his cape(cape was to hide the gear so gen didn't care cause panic to the untrained eye, who wouldn't be able to tell he was confused concealing gear). Just in case. People seemed to like near the ocean, so it was one of the first places Levi checked once the immediate area was cleared. Once he got there, the male saw a small figure in the distance. He would take up a jogging pace, the details becoming clearer as he got closer. Pebble? He immediately didn't like the position she was in, she was pretty much curled into a ball which was never good. Levi slowed down to a walk, quickly clearing the last few steps. Was she... crying? Oh dear wall Rose that couldn't be good. Something was wrong. "pebble? What's wrong?" he asked, his voice containing a hint of concern, which was a big step up from his usual unemotional voice. Did he do something wrong?

At first she denied it, but seconds later she was spilling out words and emotions and tears. His mind raced for what to do, how to comfort her, how to make her not be so hard on herself. Then she was biting at her hand, quickly causing blood to arrive. What was it with these younger people and biting thumbs? Though once he saw the blood it spurred him into action, not wanting to watch Pebble hurt herself a moment longer. He certainly didn't blame her, he didn't blame anyone. Levi had learned long ago that you didn't need to blame anyone, you just have to keep on living. The male would practically attempt to tackle hug her, half falling because he tripped over a rock. One hand would try to grab at the thumb she was biting, hoping to get it away from her teeth. If successful, Levi would hold that hand tightly, half to try and stop the bleeding and half and a sign of attempted comfort. He could wash off the blood later. "Pebble, listen to me. It's not your fault, nobody but yourself blames you. Blame isn't important, what's important is that we all keep on living the best we can, and that we don't give up. You're not stupid, you can think well and act fast in the face of danger, and no ordinary brat can do that. You're the one person I've let myself get close to, that takes something. Please don't do this to yourself pup, you're so much better than what you think you are." he said, cutting himself off when he realized he was rambling. Levi wasn't sure how the words came to him, but they seemed good so he went with it. Then he realized that she would need a motive to stop other than for her own good. "Don't just do it for you, do it for me and everyone here. We can't move forwards without you. You're allowed to be upset, but you're not allowed to torture yourself like this." he added, looking at pebble and hoping he could make eye contact.

Slowly she calmed down, notifying him that he was successful. Alright maybe he wasn't as bad at this as he thought he was. Maybe it was just because this was his girlfriend and she didn't really have anyone else to comfort her. Levi remembered clearly how Pebble had attacked Darraghaghaghaghagh, he remembered having to stop her and kicking her to do so. That couldn't of felt good. Not that his rper remembered. Her head was at his chest and he decided to let go of her hand, confident that she wouldn't bite it again. Then Levi would wrap his arms around her in a hug, formulating his reply in his head. "I've done bad stuff in my past too, but we all just have to move on and hope for the best. You don't need to be sorry." and with that, he would gently rest his head on hers, happy that he was able to do something to help.

Saving people was practically a part of daily life. Levi grew to not think much of it nowadays. Sadly some of the rumors about his past were true, and none of them were pretty. He didn't like to think about it. She spoke once again, surprising him with the words. Not what he was expecting at all. The male opened his mouth to try and think of a reply, but he was cut off by pebble's kiss, causing his eyes to grow wide. Levi froze for a moment, not used to the affection, but as the kiss continued he relaxed, his eyelids gradually falling as he managed to get his thoughts together enough to kiss her back. This was definitly not the outcome of what he expected tonight, but this was easily better than cleaning everything a million times. Why hadn't he kissed her sooner?

She pulled back and left him dazed, left him wanting more and the kiss to continue. Maybe back at the house? That sounded good to him. More words were spoken and he was tossed back to his early past, images flashing before his eyes. He didn't recall a kiss, he had a pretty sad love life before pebble. No, bad. Don't think about that. That wasn't relevant, wasn't needed now. He shook his head to clear it, opening his eyes and focusing back on pebble. The other spoke again, pulling him out of his daze and back to reality. Yeah they really should get her hand fixed up. It was getting late, so he wouldn't be surprised if the village doctor was off to sleep. "I've got medical supplies back at the house." Levi said, letting his arms fall to his sides as she pulled out of the hug. Levi then stood up and offered a hand to help pull her up, a smile on his face leftover from the kiss.

She got up as well and then ruffled his hair, causing him to internally cringe because it wasn't neat. His hand went up to fix it, running his fingers through his hair a couple times. That would have to do for now. They began walking towards the village and she asked a question. Oh right, he didn't smile often. That moment had felt like years almost, so reality hit him hard. Right. The world didn't only consist of pebble, or just humans as he remembered his gear. He glanced away, almost shyly. Pebble would be one of the few people to ever see his smile. "I've always known how to smile, the occasion to smile just rarely came up." Levi replied, his smile remaining strong.

Shy? Pffft. What? Levi, shy? Of course not. You must have the wrong person. She continued speaking and he listened. He hadn't really though of pebble to be much of a shy type, so this was news to him. "I'm not being shy." Levi said, saying what just about any guy would say after being called shy. "If you want, once we get off of flat ground we can ride around with the gear if you'd like." he offered. It was a good thing he brought it afterall, huh? Not for the reason originally intended, but still useful. He was light, the gear could easily take him and pebble.
