Anna's head popped up off of the book she had been reading, breathing heavy and sweating a bit. And her face was stained and sticky, eyes watering. Was she... crying? She reached up, wiping her face a bit and wondering. Did she have another nightmare? A nightmare she couldn't remember? Why was she having those more and more? She had to wonder if it was because she was failing and finding anymore traces of Doff. She winced a bit, recalling how their parting had been. What was that creature? Or, a bigger question now, why was she in the library?
She looked down at the book she had been reading, realizing it was just a book on the outside world. Poisonous plants. She sighed lightly, closing the book and pushing herself away from the table. She felt herself around, as the windows often provided light during the day compared to night. She sniffed, finding where the book had been pulled from and slowly pushing it back where it belonged. She sighed, stepping back and looking around before shuffling to the door. She poked her head out, making sure nobody was around to notice she wasn't in bed. She sighed a bit and slipped away, feeling slight pain in her stomach. She didn't get to eat because she fell asleep in the library. Giving a low sigh of anger, she continued on, feeling her way through the halls before deciding not to go to her room. She wouldn't fall asleep any how.
She made her way outside, looking around before tiptoeing to the stables. Giving one, good jump, her fingers grasped the edge of the roof and she pulled herself up, scrambling to the highest point of the building before sitting down and gazing at the moon. The soldiers on guard wouldn't look up. Hopefully.
She blinked, recalling the events of just yesterday. She had interacted with Eren and found out that he wasn't as bad as Jean made him to be. And she remembered Marco. Her heart literally she'd at the thought of the poor boy, tears springing to her eyes. She blinked them away, pulling her knees to her chest as she recalled the sweet, freckled boy. How had he died? They never seemed to figure that one out. He was just... gone. Like that. She remembered how Jean had told her and how she had locked herself away. They were supposed to join the Military Police together. She whimpered, pulling her knees closer and resting her chin on them.
Jean... he was so quiet now. She wasn't sure it was him. She had promised their mother she'd protect the troublesome boy. He really was a sweetheart. He just... couldn't find where he fit in. Anna found her place. On the sidelines. She sniffed a bit, continuing the gaze at the stars and moon. So pretty.
